Don’t take my word for it.
I am Abe Dearmer, and I coach strength and performance online from Australia. I compete in powerlifting at national level, I served 14 years as an officer in the Australian Army’s Artillery, I hold a current Rugby Australia performance-pathway accreditation, and I built the tracker my athletes log into. Every one of those has a link, a date or a database behind it. Check them.
What are my credentials?
Four, and each one has a check attached. A published competition record on a database I do not control, 14 years of service history, a named Rugby Australia accreditation with an expiry date, and a shipped app you can download. No adjectives, because adjectives are not evidence.
Competing powerlifter
My best total is 687.5kg at 418.07 Dots, across five sanctioned meets in WRPF-AUS and AusPL, including a drug-tested qualifier and a national championship. Coached throughout by Henny’s Strength & Performance.
Verify on OpenPowerliftingAustralian Army officer
14 years, Artillery. I have been through the ADF system and led soldiers through it from the officer's side, which is why the ADF pillar is built on process, not slogans.
Stated as service history. No ADF affiliation or endorsement is implied.Accredited rugby coach
Playing since I was six, coaching for seven years. Rugby Australia Pathways & Performance Coach: the performance-pathway accreditation, not entry level.

I built the workout tracker my athletes log into. That is why the data side of this is not a bolt-on: I designed the structure the numbers arrive in, so nothing is lost between your set and my review.
ironledger.appWhat is my competition record?
Five sanctioned meets between October 2023 and February 2026, across WRPF-AUS and AusPL, including a drug-tested qualifier and a national championship. Best total 687.5kg at 418.07 Dots. The bad days are on the record next to the good ones, which is the point of a public record.
Why do I still compete while coaching?
Because a coach who stopped competing stops feeling the things they are asking you to do. Cutting weight while the bar gets heavier, opening conservatively when you want to be a hero, the last warm-up before a third attempt. I ask clients to do those things, so I keep doing them.
It keeps me honest
Every programming idea I use on you, I have run on myself first and posted the result whether it worked or not.
I was coached for it
Henny’s Strength & Performance coached me through that 28-month run. Being the client is the fastest way to learn what good coaching feels like.
I know the federations
Rules, commands, weigh-in procedure and how a meet day actually runs, from the platform rather than from a rulebook.
I coach four groups, not one
Powerlifting, ADF preparation, rugby and field sport. The method is the same. The event you are pointed at is not.
What rugby coaching do I actually do?
I have played since I was six and coached for seven years. Right now I coach two sides at Wellington for the 2026 season, the Men’s XV and the juniors. My accreditations are current and named below, which means a parent or a club can check them rather than take my word for it.

What do you do with my data?
I use AI to structure and analyse your training data, and I would rather tell you exactly how than let you assume. Most coaches in this industry are doing the same thing quietly. Some are pasting client health information into public chatbots without saying so. Here is my stance, in plain language.
What I collect
- Training logs: sets, loads, reps and RPE.
- Bodyweight, and weight-class targets if they apply.
- Sleep, soreness and weekly check-in notes.
- Your intake answers: history, injuries, schedule, food.
- Video you send for technique review.
What the analysis sees
- Your structured training data: loads, volumes, trends.
- Bodyweight and recovery markers over time.
- Patterns across blocks, so stalls show up early.
- It surfaces patterns. It does not write your program.
What it never sees
- Your name or contact details attached to the training data.
- Health notes and injury history from your intake.
- Your progress photos or review video.
- Anything typed into a public chatbot, because I do not do that.
Where it is stored
In IronLedger and the intake form, both of which I run. It is not sold, shared with advertisers, or handed to third parties for their own use.
If you leave
Ask and I delete it. Your training history is yours, so you can also have a copy of it on the way out, in a format you can actually read.
Who decides
I do, every time. The analysis is an input to my judgement. If that ever changes, this page changes with it, and I will tell clients before it does.
"Most coaches are quietly using AI and saying nothing. I would rather tell you exactly what it does, exactly what it sees, and exactly which decisions are still mine."
